Your challenges
Waste can also be an indicator of poor performance and inefficient processes – and it is increasingly costly to have your waste taken away to be landfilled.
There is an opportunity cost too, when the value of the materials in your waste stream is not recognised. Or, if you use water in your processes, and don't economise on its use or recover value from by-products.
Meanwhile, you not only need to comply with all relevant regulations. Customers and staff also have rising expectations of your environmental performance and responsibility.
We understand these challenges – plus others that are sector-specific – and have designed our services to solve them.
Our solutions
Developing solutions for the smarter management of water and waste
We serve more than 30,000 companies and organisations, and operate from 300-plus locations across the UK. So we have the infrastructure and the teams on the ground to provide a reliable, responsive and efficient service.
We work with our customers to develop solutions for the smarter management of waste and water. This involves:
- Looking at the entire supply chain and mapping processes to identify where the waste comes from, how it is treated and where it goes.
- Understanding the processes, analysing data, and identifying opportunities to achieve efficiencies and cost savings.
- Recommending the most cost-effective solutions that divert waste from landfill to productive uses, and where possible, prevent waste being produced in the first place.
SUEZ boasts a national network of facilities and the specialist expertise needed to recover maximum value for our customers.
Our regional structure of local branches, each with a customer relations manager, is geared to ensuring our service to every business meets our national standards.
Our waste services include:
Many businesses do not have the space or set-up for multiple bins so different waste materials can be segregated. We want to help all our customers recycle as much as possible.
SUEZ offers a mixed recycling and collection service that enables your business to collect paper, cardboard, cans and plastic bottles together in the same container. Having one container for all these items is a convenient and easy way to recycle more.
And we have the facilities to sort and separate these materials so they can be put to good use.
Why choose our mixed recycling service?
- Free site audit
- Range of user-friendly containers
- Hassle-free collections
- Cost-effective service
Each container that we provide displays images of what you can recycle, helping your employees and customers recycle more efficiently.
We help our customers recycle as much as possible, but not all waste can be recycled.
So we provide an efficient, cost-effective and compliant waste collection service to deal with these leftover materials – and, wherever possible, we seek to recover energy from this residual waste at our advanced energy-from-waste facilities.
Why choose our general waste service?
- Cost-effective solutions
- Hassle-free collections
- Guaranteed compliance with regulations
- Landfill diversion solutions
- Free site audit
Disposing of food waste along with general waste is throwing away not only a natural resource, but also your money.
A SUEZ food waste collection service helps you avoid the rising costs of landfill tax and reduces the impact of your business on the environment.
Separating food waste can save you money and allows us to give it a second life. Our composting centres will turn your waste into bio-fertiliser and soil conditioner. Alternatively, anaerobic digestion generates energy while avoiding carbon emissions.
Why choose our food waste service?
- Regular, reliable collections.
- Indoor food collection caddies complete with removable biodegradable liners (biobags).
- Larger food waste containers for storage and collection outdoors.
- Staff training and ongoing support.
- Updates on your landfill diversion and carbon savings.
- Free site audit.
SUEZ offers a secure shredding service for your confidential waste. This provides you and your business with the protection and peace of mind you need when it comes to destroying your confidential data.
Data held by your organisation must be kept secure and disposed of safely. This means that it is your legal responsibility to dispose of confidential material separately from normal waste.
Guaranteeing security at each stage, we collect, destroy and/or recycle confidential waste – from paper documents and files to CDs, hard drives and uniforms. All this is done in full compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Why choose our secure shredding service?
- Secure – we collect and destroy all your confidential information securely, complying with EN 15713 and BS 7858 standards.
- Compliant – we ensure you comply with your legal obligations.
- Trusted and established – for more than 15 years we have been trusted by some of the UK’s most security-conscious organisations.
- On-site (mobile) and off-site shredding.
- Regular or one-off collections.
- Free site audit.
Choose from on- or off-site shredding
If you prefer, we can carry out shredding on-site at your premises using one of our specialist shredding trucks. Off-site shredding takes place at one of our secure shredding facilities.
With both options you receive updates on where your confidential documents are in the process, as well as a full audit trail, so that you can demonstrate compliance.
To make our service even more secure, we have replaced hessian collection bags with recyclable paper bags. Paper bags eliminate human contact with your confidential documents, as they are sealable, and can be shredded along with the contents of the bag.
Our hazardous waste management services are highly flexible as well as fully compliant. So whether an organisation produces small quantities of everyday hazardous waste or has industrial-scale requirements, we provide tailored and cost-effective support.
SUEZ’s hazbox service is the ideal solution for low volumes of everyday hazardous waste. These waste items can be stored in the hazbox and, once the box is full, it is exchanged for an empty one. SUEZ then ensures the hazardous items are recycled and disposed of in a compliant way.
We also handle larger volumes of hazardous waste – including industrial scale projects, such as managing drums of chemicals and tankering hazardous wastes, providing UN-approved storage containers and full paperwork for waste transfers.
SUEZ offers a reliable and hassle-free skip hire and RORO (roll-on, roll-off) service from our local branches.
Why choose our skip and RORO services?
- Fast, reliable and competitive
- Household and commercial options – including demolition and construction
- Road permit arrangements
- Flexible container options
- Same or next-day delivery
- Free site audit

We provide containers for each type of waste and transport it to one of our specially equipped facilities for processing. And we will also do a free site audit beforehand to ensure that our service is tailored to your exact needs.

Ensuring compliance
SUEZ ensures your organisation’s waste and water are managed in full compliance with the law.
We guarantee that all materials, including those you separate out for
recycling, will be sent to a facility licensed by regulators.
Since 2015, four waste streams – namely paper, metal, plastic and glass –
need to be collected separately. This is required under the revised
European Waste Framework Directive 2008/98/EC: “where technically,
environmentally and economically practicable (TEEP) and appropriate to
meet the necessary quality standards for the relevant recycling
sectors”.
We will help make sure your recycling and waste collection is compliant with these TEEP regulations.
