Residents in Calderdale are thinking of the environment and preventing fires by safely disposing of their single-use vapes at their local household waste recycling centre (HWRC), with over 7,000 single-use vapes successfully collected and recycled since the scheme was introduced in November.

Calderdale Council, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and SUEZ recycling and recovery UK are issuing a joint plea to residents, asking them to be mindful when parking so as not to block access for emergency responders and frontline services.

Unfortunately, household recycling and waste collections are likely to be impacted in Doncaster and Calderdale today (Friday 08 November 2019) as a result of extremely heavy rainfall overnight in these areas.
